Week 2 - story board
Week 3
I decided to use the sample clips that Premiere offers. I tried to choose clips that correlated with one another(the setting), and then used simple cross dissolve transitions. At the end of the last clip I used a fade to black transition to try and signify the end of the video. As you can see, I was messing around with the audio track, I tried using the other audio transitions but I was happy with the results of the exponential fade.
Week 4 - Video Art Appreciation
Week ? - Elements of 4D
The elements of 4D are intriguing. They include time, architecture/topography, light, movement, and sound. The fact that there are so many different types of time when it comes to art can be overwhelming, but each one is so beautifully different. There is measured time, experienced time, running time, biological time, and digital time. The concept of time can never be grasped, because no matter how much you try to grasp it, it slips away. Time can be seconds, minutes, hours, days, and so on. This is why people take time so seriously, and hold it close to their hearts. It is true that time comes back around, but it's always different. You will never repeat the same thing ever because one minor detail will always be changed. That is what makes time so precious.
Alex Levin, Surrealism Painting: Biological ClockI love the use of warm and cool colors in this work of art. I also like how there are different symbols of time. For example, the hourglass in the egg, the figure's head, which is a pocket watch, and the snail in the lower left corner. I included the snail because I think of how time can sometimes feel as if it's going by at a "snail's pace". I don't have anything that I dislike about this work of art. I could spend hours on end looking at this painting.
Elements of 4D
Sound is vibration that can be perceived by the ear. Sound art can be expressed through many different ways. Some examples is music, explosions, nature, etc. Sound can be a very expressive and intimidating way to express art. One can either execute it perfectly, or fail miserably. I feel that sound in art is only powerful depending on the message the artist is trying to send to their audience. Silence is just as beautiful as sound in art. Silence in art can capture so many different moments depending on how it's used. Both Sound and silence can capture the beauty of life, or the weirdness and awkwardness. Both of these things are such an important thing in everyday life, seeing it well-executed in art is inspiring.
